Wilson Arena, was a display of determination and skill from the Jimmies.
The match started with the Warriors taking the lead, scoring to make it 1-0 late in the first period. The Jimmies faced further adversity when Greg Susinski was ejected for a hit to the head, leaving them with a challenging situation. However, the Jimmies showed resilience and managed to kill off the penalty. The Warriors extended their lead to 2-0 with just 2:53 left in the game, putting the Jimmies under even more pressure.
Despite the odds, the Jimmies found a way to fight back. A tripping penalty against the Warriors gave the Jimmies a new opportunity, and they seized it. Logan Berggreen scored to cut the deficit to 2-1, sparking excitement among the Jimmies women’s hockey players in attendance. Isaiah Miller, competing in the 133-pound weight class, achieved a top-five finish, coming in fifth. The Jimmies women’s wrestling team also had a successful start to their season at the Luther College Open. Alyssa Johnson emerged as the winner in the 155-pound weight class, showcasing her talent and determination. Additionally, Grace Todhunter and Jenna Gerhardt secured third-place finishes in their respective weight classes, adding to the Jimmies’ achievements.
