exciting news! Our upcoming home match with Haringey Borough on Saturday 25 November is going to be a big support for White Ribbon Day. We’re teaming up with our Sistership, Survivors Network, to kick off the UN’s 16 days of activism against gender-based violence. Our players will be rocking the white away kit, and our captain will be sporting a special white ribbon armband. Plus, we’re going to tie white ribbons around 1 in 4 seats in the seated stand to represent the 1 in 4 women who are survivors of gender-based violence. It’s a powerful statement, isn’t it?
We know that changing culture doesn’t happen overnight, but together we can make a difference. Let’s work towards ending men’s violence against women and girls in our lifetimes. This White Ribbon Day, we’re calling on men and boys to #CallHimOut and help #ChangeTheStory for women and girls. Our goal is to create a world where they can live their lives free from the fear of violence.
It’s important to remember that violence experienced by women and girls comes in many forms. Some behaviours and words may seem harmless, but normalizing them ignores the real impact on women and can lead to more extreme violence.
So, let’s stand together with Lewes FC and Survivors’ Network this White Ribbon Day and #CallHimOut. Let’s make a difference!
