Revving Up in Vegas: The Return of Formula 1 Racing

The Formula 1 is back in Las Vegas after 41 years, and it’s a big deal! The new street circuit is 6.2 kilometers long and takes the drivers down the legendary Strip. But it’s not all smooth sailing for the drivers and engineers. The first free practice session didn’t go as planned, with Carlos Sainz feeling a rough bump in his Ferrari. The culprit? Loose manhole covers on the track! This caused quite a stir, with Ferrari team boss Frederic Vasseur calling it unacceptable. It’s the first time the race is being held on this dangerous track, and everyone is wondering how the teams are preparing for it. They’re using high-tech 3D maps and simulations to get the drivers and cars ready for the challenge.

The new track is unique, but there’s another twist to the story. The evening sessions in Las Vegas are chilly, with temperatures dropping by 10 degrees. This could spell trouble for the cars, especially the tires. If it gets too cold, the tires could lose grip and wear out quickly, leading to more pit stops than usual.

The first free practice session didn’t go well, but in show business, a rocky start often leads to a great show. The third free practice session is on Saturday at 5:30 AM, and you can catch the qualifying on Saturday at 9 AM. The Grand Prix is on Sunday, with the pre-show starting at 6:30 AM. You can watch it all on Tëlee Lëtzebuerg on RTL Zwee. Don’t miss the action!
