Former Hockey Players Speak Out Against Coach’s Alleged Misconduct

Two teenage hockey players have come forward with allegations of manipulation, abusive behavior, and inappropriate conduct by their former coach, Madison Biluk. The coach, who has been charged with 15 offences, including sexual assault, sexual exploitation, sexual interference, and luring, has been accused of creating a toxic environment for the players. The incidents occurred during the 2021-22 season with the U18 AA Rocky Mountain Raiders in Alberta. Despite concerns raised by parents in Alberta, Biluk went on to coach in Manitoba the following season. The players described instances of emotional and mental abuse, as well as inappropriate behavior by Biluk. They also highlighted the lack of accountability and favoritism towards certain players. The parents of one of the players expressed their disappointment with the hiring process for coaches and emphasized the importance of listening to concerns raised by parents. The charges against Biluk have not been proven in court, and investigations are ongoing. Support is available for those affected by contacting victim services and the Sexual Assault Crisis Line.
