They’re doing it with a hilarious twist – by comparing their mustaches and having a friendly competition to see who rocks the best ‘stache!
The whole idea started with former UMD goaltender Ben Patt, who organized this fundraiser to show support for his teammates, goaltender Zach Stejskal and defenseman Will Francis. Zach battled and beat testicular cancer, while Will is currently fighting leukemia. Team Captain Luke Loheit is leading the charge, making sure the team keeps the focus on this important cause throughout the fall season.
According to Loheit, this cause hits close to home for the team, especially with Zach and Will’s health battles. He emphasized the wide range of men’s health issues, from mental health to cancer, and stressed the importance of shedding light on these topics.
