The Borth & Ynyslas Golf Club recently hosted its first men’s Christmas Trail, and it was a blast! Clive Morgan emerged as the champion of the strokeplay competition, scoring a fantastic nett 64. He outshone Peter Tooze and Owen Jenkins, who secured second and third place with nett 65 and nett 68 respectively.
In the Turkey Trail 2 – Stableford, Adam Roberts took the lead with an impressive 43 points, followed by Simon Bentley with 38 points, and Peter Tooze on the back nine. The excitement continued with the Turkey Trail 3 – Men’s Par Bogey, where David Greathead secured the top spot with a score of 4, closely followed by Elgan Griffiths with 3, and Dale Harvey on the back nine.
Moving on to the Ladies Section, Ruth Jones showed her skills in the 9 Hole Stableford, clinching the top position with 18 points, while Ruth Morris secured the second spot with 17 points. The October Stableford 3 saw Kay Thomas leading the way with 30 points, followed by Barbara Flanagan with 29 points.
The Christmas Trail 2 AM-AM was a thrilling event, with J Raw-Rees, B Flanagan, and J Harrison securing the top position with 37 points, and K Evans, K Price, and A Morris following closely with 33 points. Ruth Morris once again showcased her talent in the 9 hole Stableford, securing the top spot with 15 points.
Despite adverse weather conditions, the November Stableford 1 event was a success, with Anna Hubbard emerging as the winner with 26 points, beating Ruth Jones on the back nine, and Barbara Flanagan securing the third spot with 24 points. The Christmas Trail 3 wrapped up the exciting events, with Clare Jones leading the pack with 35 points, followed by Margaret Roberts with 33 points, and Jane Raw-Rees with 30 points.
