Jamie Walker’s Winning Mentality

Jamie Walker is all about winning football matches and is looking forward to the Bantams’ game against Notts County. He’s hoping to bounce back with a victory after a narrow defeat to Barrow last week. The change in kick-off time doesn’t bother him much, and he sees it as a great chance to show what they’re made of.

“The most vital thing is winning football matches,” he said. “The mood around the training ground has been great after a few wins under Kev (McDonald), so hopefully we can keep that going and get some more wins.

“Last week, we played well but lost. The manager was impressed with how we played, so hopefully we can build on that and get some points on the board.

“As we get closer to kick-off, all the players have their own routines. They’ll stick with them no matter what time the game starts.

“Having our game shown live on Sky Sports is a great chance to show what we’re all about and what the manager wants from us,” he added.

The 30-year-old has been really impressed by new Bantams boss Graham Alexander and believes that the team needs to keep improving under their new manager. He’s looking forward to a first victory under the new Bantams chief tomorrow lunchtime.

“I’ve been very impressed,” Walker said. “It’s going to take some time for the new manager to get his ideas across. Hopefully, we can keep getting better with each game.

“He wants good intensity and wants players forward and in the box, so his ideas are starting to take hold. Given time, they could really come to fruition.

“It would be great to end a tough week of training with three points,” he added.
