Manistique Hockey’s Tough Start to the Season

Manistique hockey had a tough start to the season, losing 6-1 to Alpena in their first game. Coach John Nutkins admitted, “We’re just not ready yet. They had more time on the ice than us, and our guys are still adapting to the game. We got work on things and continue to put in the work.” The Wildcats scored 20 seconds into the game, and special teams played a big role in the outcome. Despite the effort from the Emeralds, the Wildcats secured the win. The game saw some penalties, power plays, and a few goals, but the Wildcats emerged victorious with a 4-1 lead. Manistique had 27 shots on goal, while the Wildcats had 39 shots and secured the win with a strong performance.
