WSSU Women’s Basketball Faces Tough Loss to North Greenville

Hey, did you catch the game between Winston-Salem State University and North Greenville? It was a close one, with the WSSU women’s basketball team falling short to North Greenville 66-62. The Rams put up a good fight, but the Crusaders managed to pull ahead.

Kennedi Simmions was on fire, leading the Rams with 18 points off the bench. Taniah Wilkins scored 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds, while Amaya Tucker chipped in with 11 points and four steals. Sierra Hunter also made her mark with nine rebounds.

The Rams had some impressive stats, going 19-51 from the field and 19-31 from the free-throw line. They also scored 24 points in the paint, 24 points off turnovers, and 33 bench points. Plus, they forced 22 turnovers – talk about putting the pressure on!

The game had its ups and downs, with the Crusaders taking an early lead in the first quarter. But the Rams fought back, going on an 8-0 run in the second quarter and taking the lead at halftime. It was a close battle in the third and fourth quarters, with both teams giving it their all.

Despite the loss, the Rams are gearing up for their next challenge. They’ll be heading to Winter Park, Florida to play in the Rollins Thanksgiving Tournament on Friday, November 24th and Saturday, November 25th. First up, they’ll face off against Florida Southern College on Friday at 4:00 p.m. Let’s show them some support as they take on their next opponents!
