Kawasaki Z7 Hybrid: The Ultimate Tech-Savvy Roadster

check out the latest buzz in the motorcycle world! Kawasaki has just unveiled the Z7 Hybrid, a roadster version of its hybrid sports bike, at the EICMA show. This bad boy packs a punch with a 451cc parallel engine that pumps out 58 horsepower at 10,500 rpm. But wait, there’s more! It also features a combined power mode that combines the engine with a 9kW electric motor, giving it a unique mix of power sources. This hybrid marvel boasts an electric range of 12 km before the petrol engine kicks in for a top-up.

Just like its sibling, the Ninja 7, the Z7 Hybrid comes with three driving modes and an automatic transmission. The electric mode is perfect for city cruising, while the Eco-Hybrid mode lets you choose between fully automatic or manual six-speed transmission. And for the thrill-seekers, the Sport mode cranks up the power with an e-Boost function that unleashes maximum power for five seconds.

But it’s not just a hybrid, it’s a tech-savvy beast! The Z7 retains the same trellis frame as the Ninja 7 but sheds some of the fairing, especially the lower part, for a more stripped-down look. It offers a more upright riding position, higher handlebars, and unchanged footpeg layout. This mean machine, available in two colours, is set to hit the market in May 2024.

Kawasaki’s hybrid bikes also come with nifty features like the ‘WALK’ mode for low-speed manoeuvring, Start & Stop system, and ALPF (Automatic Launch Position Finder) that automatically shifts the bike into first gear at stops, like at traffic lights. The Z7 Hybrid tips the scales at 227 kg, the same as the Ninja, and promises fuel efficiency comparable to a 250cc bike.

So, mark your calendars for the spring of 2024 because that’s when the Z7 Hybrid will hit the streets. But in the meantime, why not check out our full review of the Ninja 7 Hybrid? Stay tuned for more updates on the latest two-wheeled wonders!
