Fuel Prices Update: Diesel and Petrol Going Their Separate Ways

folks! It’s time for a quick update on the fuel prices in France. Last week, the price of diesel went down by 0.7 cents on average, while the price of petrol went up by 0.2 cents. Looks like these two fuels are going in opposite directions again, just like last week.

This has led to a bit of a gap between the two fuels, even though they’ve been pretty close in recent weeks. Diesel is now averaging at 1.8011 €/L, while SP 95 E-10 is at 1.8189 €/L, making it the more expensive option, which wasn’t always the case in the recent past.

But here’s the good news – overall, fuel prices have been dropping. Both petrol and diesel are nearly 20 cents cheaper than they were a few months ago. With these latest figures, diesel is at its lowest level since the beginning of August, and petrol is flirting with its lowest level since July, coming within a few cents of it.

All of this is happening as the price of Brent crude oil dropped by 1.9 dollars to 82.4 dollars last week. However, there’s a chance that the price could go up in the near future, as the production of oil is being reduced in Saudi Arabia and Russia.

So, that’s the latest on the fuel prices – diesel and petrol are doing their own thing, but the overall trend is downwards. Stay tuned for more updates!
