mates! Pull up a chair and let’s have a good old natter about that belter of a day we had at the Bancroft mini-festival, remember? It was on a nippy Sunday, the 19th of November, when our Harlow rugger youngsters, the Under 12s and Under 14s, pitched up at Bancroft ready for some action. They had that look about them, you know, that special kind of determination you see in rugby kids.
Right, so these younglings had two games each to play, and that’s no walk in the park – it’s tough going! The Under 12s had a right laugh, pairing off against the teams from Clacton and Westcliff. They laced up and went full tilt, managing to snag a win and a sly draw – fair play to ’em! As for the Under 14s, they mixed it up with the Canvey lot, bantered a bit, and then absolutely smashed it by securing two wins. I mean, come on, that’s brilliant, isn’t it? Hats off to the whole gang for such a cracking performance.
And let’s not skip past the other gem of the weekend – the day before all the fun at the mini-fest, the Under 12s girls were soaking up advice from the Saracens coaches over at StoneX stadium. Imagine getting your Saturday off to a flyer with some training and laughs, followed by watching a top-notch ladies game. It’s pretty much the rugby dream, wouldn’t you say?
Big cheers to Bancroft for putting on the do and to everyone who pitched in to make it an absolute stormer of a weekend. Whether you were in the scrum, on the sidelines, or just there soaking up the good vibes, you all made it a weekend to remember.
