Former Wimbledon finalist, David Nalbandian, is currently facing legal trouble after his model ex-girlfriend, Araceli Torrado, accused him of sexual harassment and stalking. The 29-year-old model filed a complaint against the 41-year-old tennis player, alleging that he had installed hidden cameras in their shared home without her knowledge.
According to reports, Torrado presented a video as evidence, showing her discovery of the alleged spy camera in the air conditioning unit of their apartment. Despite the judge ruling that the camera was indeed set up by Nalbandian, the installation itself was not considered a criminal act, as the apartment was jointly owned by the couple. However, Torrado is now seeking legal action against him for harassment and stalking.
In response, Nalbandian admitted to installing the device, expressing his desire to reconcile with Torrado. He explained, “What matters to me is that I’m okay with you, I want to find a way for us to get back together. If you want me to be honest? Yes, it was me.”
Torrado later took to social media to address the matter, informing her followers about her decision to pursue both criminal and civil proceedings against Nalbandian. She also expressed her gratitude for the support she has received.
Nalbandian, known for achieving a career-high ranking as World No3, has had a successful tennis career, reaching the Wimbledon final in 2002 and making notable appearances in other Grand Slam tournaments. Despite retiring from professional tennis in 2013, he has remained active in sports, having ventured into rally driving and coaching Serbian tennis player, Miomir Kecmanovic, in 2021.
While legal proceedings are yet to unfold, this controversy has certainly placed Nalbandian under public scrutiny, especially considering his status as a respected figure in the world of professional sports. It remains to be seen how this situation will develop and potentially impact the legacy of the former tennis star.
