The recent game between Bellarmine University men’s basketball team and West Virginia provided an intense battle on the court. Although the Mountaineers ultimately claimed a 62-58 victory, the Knights put up a strong fight until the very end.
Throughout the game, Bellarmine challenged West Virginia, never allowing them to pull too far ahead. Even though the Knights trailed 36-30 at halftime, they managed to stay within striking distance of their opponents. At one point in the second half, Bellarmine even took a one-point lead, showing their determination and tenacity.
Sophomore guard Peter Suder delivered an outstanding performance, leading the game with 19 points and three assists. Senior guard Bash Wieland also made a significant contribution with 10 points, while sophomore guards Ben Johnson and Billy Smith added eight points each. Senior guard Alec Pfriem demonstrated his skills with five rebounds and three steals, and junior forward Langdon Hatton achieved a career-high of four assists.
The Knights’ efforts were reflected in their strong performance on the court. They held their own in terms of offensive rebounds, steals, and turnovers, showcasing their ability to compete at a high level. Despite the loss, Bellarmine demonstrated their resilience and potential as a team.
