The picturesque market town of Bridgnorth was recently the stage for a spectacular celebration of Italian motoring, drawing crowds of car enthusiasts and curious onlookers alike. The Bridgnorth Italian Auto Moto Festival showcased 45 exquisite Italian cars, ranging from the sleek and modern Ferrari 488 to the iconic 1923 Diatto. The event, which coincided with the town’s continental market, featured an array of delectable treats such as dried fruits, baklava, speciality breads, cured meats, cheese selections, confectionary, speciality mustards, and jam.
Visitors were treated to a dazzling display of motoring prowess, with a varied lineup of Fiats, Lancias, Alfa Romeos, a De Tomaso Pantera, and the rare Intermeccanica Indra sports car. The festival also hosted Nick Kane, the designer of the LaFerrari, who graced the event with a personal exhibition of his own cars fresh from the Ferrari factory in Maranello, Italy.
In addition to the impressive showcase of cars, the festival boasted a collection of Lambretta and Vespa scooters, alongside a diverse range of Italian motorcycles including Ducatis, Aprilias, Moto Guzzis, MV Agustas, and Benellis. David Morris, the organiser and director of Bridgnorth Italian Auto Moto Club, expressed his delight in being able to feature such rare and remarkable vehicles at the festival.
Mr. Morris shared, “The festival has been a tremendous success, with highlights such as the roaring De Tomaso Pantera from North Wales and the historic 1923 Diatto, which made a name for itself at the renowned Targa Florio Race. The Intermeccanica Indra from Kent, the only road-worthy one in the UK, also garnered significant interest. In terms of Italian motorcycles, we had an impressive display of Ducatis, Moto Guzzis, and classic Lambretta and Vespa scooters.”
The positive reception of the festival has already sparked plans for a repeat event in the coming year, with Mr. Morris revealing, “This is the inaugural event of its kind, and the overwhelming support has prompted requests for a return engagement. The town councillors have expressed their satisfaction and keenness for another festival. The harmony between the motoring exhibition and the continental market on the High Street worked seamlessly, drawing visitors from near and far.”
The resounding success of the festival, enhanced by ideal weather conditions, brought an influx of visitors to Bridgnorth, creating a buzz of excitement and fueling anticipation for future iterations of the event. The infectious enthusiasm of the attendees combined with the vibrant display of Italian automotive excellence undoubtedly made the Bridgnorth Italian Auto Moto Festival an event to remember.
