Fardaws Aimaq, a 6-foot-11 center for Cal, was captured on video approaching a fan in the bleachers at The Pavilion in San Juan Capistrano, California, after reportedly being subjected to racist insults. The video, reposted by Aimaq’s agent, Daniel Poneman, depicted the player pointing at the fan without engaging in physical altercation, instead repeatedly offering to engage in conversation. Poneman revealed that Aimaq had endured racial abuse during the game, resulting in a profound impact on him. Furthermore, Poneman highlighted Aimaq’s background as the son of Afghan parents who fled their war-torn country and emphasized his journey to the U.S. as a representation of the American dream.
